Kris Bryant – Historical Night in Cincinnati

Nobody wakes up in the morning expecting to make history. Kris Bryant was in the middle of a ” mini-slump “. Nothing new to him. Been there. Done that. I remember talking to my son the day of that game. He was frustrated. Not down. Confident and focused. I told him he has increased his chance for success exponentially because he was just coming off a 3 – 24 run. He had hit some balls right on the screws but right at the shortstop – and the centerfielder – and the third baseman – and the right fielder – and the shortstop again ! A little bad luck – or as you would have it – strategic placement of the fielders. The dreaded shift. He asked me , ” Dad , how do I go 4 – 4 ? ” A simple question with a simple answer. I told him, ” Get a hit your first time up ! ” So . . . . . he did ! A double. Little did anyone know that it would turn into an epic, history making performance. He finished with 3 home runs, 2 doubles, 6 RBI’s, and 16, yes, 16 TOTAL BASES! No baseball player in the history of the game ever had 3 home runs and 2 doubles in a game – EVER ! Watch and enjoy this video of a truly epic performance.

You are raising a fine young man. I am excited to teach my 10 year old some of your hitting instructions this summer. Go Cubs! We live just outside of Detroit. Miggy is a legend but is slow and does not play that well defensively so no offense (:
